ElevenLabs released a mobile app for Android and iOS on Tuesday. This is the second app by the company, with the first being the ElevenReader app that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to convert ebooks into audiobooks. The new app now brings the company's core AI-powered text-to-speech experience to smartphones. ElevenLabs is providing a large selection of voices powered by its native AI models, including the Eleven v3 (alpha) model. The app is available to both paid subscribers as well as those who are on the free tier.

ElevenLabs Mobile App Will Let Users Generate AI Voiceovers

In a blog post, the New York-based AI firm announced the launch of the app and detailed its features. Available on both Android and iOS, the app generates realistic, human-like AI voices for any script. Users can choose from a large selection of voices in different languages and across different use cases.

Gadgets 360 staff members tested the app and found that there are 19 default voices that users can start with, and then add more voices as per their requirements. There are male, female, and neutral voices that can be made to sound like a young, middle-aged, or old person. Users can also select voices aimed at advertisement, animation voiceovers, conversationality, TV anchors, educational content, storytelling, and social media personas.

In our experience, the voice generation process is very straightforward. The home page has a text box and an option to choose a voice. Once a voice has been selected, users can either type the text or paste it and tap generate. The audio clip is generated within seconds, and sounds very human-like.

Prior to the feature coming to the mobile app, ElevenLabs users could only access this feature via the website or the web app. The company said the decision to release the app was taken after many users requested a faster and better experience built natively for mobile.

Currently, those on the free plan can convert 10,000 characters into speech per month. Paid subscribers will be able to use their ElevenLabs credits for the same. The app is powered by the Eleven v3 model, the company's latest speech generation model. The app automatically syncs with the user's web account and shows their existing project across the interface.
