Using YOUR PHONE

LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE

There are a number of apps that can be used to learn languages, but we decided to focus on one we've used ourselves, that really worked, and doesn't cost you anything.

Duolingo proved to be a fun and engaging way to learn something new. It might not work for everyone, but it's worth trying, and it won't cost you anything.

Duolingo has courses available in 30 languages so you'll have a lot to choose from when deciding what you want to learn.

It offers quick vocabulary lessons you can do in short bursts while on the move, or while you're taking a break.

There's also a voice-mode where you can hear and speak the words you're looking at to better understand pronunciation as you learn.

The app also lets you set daily goals, so if you want to make sure that you practice 20 minutes a day, you'll get reminders and alerts to that end.

The whole experience is very engaging, with points, levels, and achievements that keep you hooked and coming back again and again.

All this is free but the app does have paid features. This include an ad-free experience, offline lessons, and unlimited retries of tests and lessons.
