Is Moto X is still a good buy at Rs 17999

I am confused if I should buy Moto X or not. Or go for some other phone, in the similar price category. Would it get the lollipop update. And if it will be able to run to smooth for 1.5 yrs. if its still a good buy even today. Any other phone in the similar range.
please suggest

it has a total of 8 cores - 4 cores of GPU (adreno 320), a dual core snapdragon s4 pro, and 2 low power processors - natural language and contextual. Its quite a setup but it is not octa core, just to be clear.

Yes, its a good buy but I did rather say to you go for moto g gen2 because you wont get updates for motox gen1 next

Yes, its a good buy but I did rather say to you go for moto g gen2 because you wont get updates for motox gen1 next year so consider lollipop as it final update.

Dude don't buy honor 6 for two reasons

  1. No lollipop update
  2. Highly customized UI makes it a little slower than MOTO X

And for those who are saying that moto x is only having dual core processor i want to tell that it is having total 8 cores in it.

I got the moto X from flipkart for 17999 and i've to say i am totally satisfied with it.

The hardware: doesn't look good on paper but real life performance is fluid smooth and there are hardly any lags (notably only when an app is being installed),

Battery life is decent, i need to charge it every day but on most occasions it'll last an entire day from 7am to 11pm
.
Display : Even though it is 720p on a 4.7inch AMOLED display it is one of bet calibrated displays i've seen, colors are well saturated (not super saturated like samsung displays) and if u are coming from an LCD screen you might notice a slightly warm tinge but will get used to it in a couple of days.

Ergonomics : You wont get a better phone to hold at this size , the curved back and weight distribution really makes it a pleasure to hold in comparison to flat back. and the phone looks pretty good!

Software : this is again one of the plus points of the moto X, near stock android experience and some very useful software enhancements like the active display (which is essential once you get used to it) and touchless control (more of a gimmick now, but can be really helpful at times). They have officially announced lollipop update for moto X so it is only a matter of time before the update arrives.

Camera : the unique double twist the wrist to open camera is a neat addition but overall the camera performance is sub par , acceptable but not near the standard set by the other giants - sony/samsung etc.

Cons :
1) lack of a memory card slot and only 16GB model is available.
2) non removable battery
3) average battery life

Unless you are into heavy gaming this phone should be good for a year and a half.

ofcourse, right now one of the best phones under 20K is the huawei honor 6.
