A new mobile phone "Optimus 3D" by LG is displayed at the Mobile World congress in Barcelona, Spain. As part of the electronics industry's continuing quest to make all things 3-D, LG Electronics Inc. demonstrated a phone with a 3-D screen and a 3-D camera; set to go on sale later this spring. The screen produces the illusion of depth without the need for special glasses, and includes a pair of five-megapixel lenses for taking 3D photos and video. LG has already announced that a tablet with a 3-D camera, the G-Slate, will be sold by T-Mobile USA this spring. It won't have a true 3-D screen, so the user will need wear red-blue glasses to see depth when using the camera. (Photo: AP)

A new mobile phone "Galaxy II" by Samsung is displayed at the Mobile World congress. A successor to the 2010 chart-topper, the Samsung Galaxy S, the Galaxy S II boasts of a dual core 1GHz processor and runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). The device is just 8.5 mm thin. It also has a 4.3-inch WVGA SUPER AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and shows off a 8MP AF camera with an LED Flash. (Photo: AP)
