A nice computer with some drawbacks: upgrading RAM should help a ton.John Pontolillo (Nov 17, 2017) on AmazonComputer has a good processor and overall, I enjoy it, but it has far too many drawbacks for the price. It has Windows 10, which is essentially malware. That is absolutely the worst feature, but you can go online and find out how to deactivate all of the horrible intrusive features. The screen is also a little low quality. The graphics card has no dedicated memory, so it leeches the 4GB RAM that comes installed. It is DDR4 RAM (which is good), but some parts of the product description at this time say DDR3, while others say DDR4. Finally, it is a hassle to upgrade ram or access the hard drive. I've never owned a laptop that doesn't have dedicated panels for these, as this does not. You are forced to remove the entire underside of the case in order to access the RAM or hard drive. This is entirely doable if you're careful, but a little nerve-wracking as it looks like you are about to damage it the entire time you're prying the case open.Edit: the problem I was having with the mouse was related to an issue with a setting called PalmCheck, which can be disabled by setting it to minimum sensitivity in the settings for the Synaptics touchpad (Settings>devices>touchpad>additional settings>device settings (tab) > settings (button)>pointing>PalmCheck). Additionally, I decided to go ahead and upgrade the RAM. You can add 4GB for a total of 8 pretty cheaply (~$50). Subsequent openings of the back case are much easier (I assume the blue stuff on the screws is something like Locktite, and it must slightly fuse all the holes together).Is this review helpful?
