Dell is one of the best-known names in the laptop market, and the Inspiron line is usually full of reliable, affordable models well suited to home users, students, and people with basic needs. Inspiron laptops are designed for everyday productivity along with entertainment, but they aren't necessarily inexpensive. The company knows that buyers these days expect laptops to be stylish and feature-rich, no matter their budgets, and so the Inspiron line has absorbed many of the little design touches and specifications that used to set the high-end XPS models apart.
Dell Inspiron 15 7572 Summary
Dell's Inspiron 15 7572 is a premium-tier laptop with good specifications and some design touches borrowed from the top-end XPS line. It's available in grey and gold, and nothing about its exterior really stands out, though it does feel solid. When you flip the lid open, you'll see very narrow borders on the top and sides of the screen, but a very thick chin. Unfortunately, the webcam has been displaced to the bottom of the screen. The keyboard is fine, but the metal edges of the case dug into our wrists as we tried to use this laptop for work.
Our review unit had a powerful Intel Core i7 CPU, Nvidia GeForce Mx150 GPU, 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD, and 1TB hard drive. At its price, we would have liked a more powerful GPU and larger SSD, but the focus here is on style and mainstream use, not gaming or any intense work. The battery lasted us for most of a workday, and we found this laptop powerful enough for productivity and entertainment.
