Increased AI adoption has reduced the demand of memory and storage chips

With RAM and storage chip shortages expected to continue until 2028, but prices potentially falling in 2027, would you wait until next year to buy a new smartphone or laptop? Or do you think AI-driven demand will keep device prices high?

Increased AI adoption has reduced the demand of memory and storage chips

I would probably wait until 2027 if my current device is still working well. If memory chip prices really fall, we could see more affordable smartphones and laptops with higher RAM and storage. However, AI demand is growing so quickly that I wouldn't rely entirely on the forecast. If I needed a new device now, I would buy based on my requirements rather than waiting indefinitely for prices to drop.
