Is the World Obsessed With Selfies?

Today, we are surrounded by selfies. It takes only half a second to click one but it takes almost all your time on social media to go through a barrage of them. What is so attractive about half-an-arm and a pouted face? What is the obsession with clicking not one, not two, but a thousand pictures in the same pose in the same place, with the same clothes? How have selfies become more important than our real selves?
