Bluetooth speakers have become a bit too similar in recent years. Walk into an electronics store, and you will probably find an assortment of black, fabric-covered cylinders and pill-shaped speakers that you can barely tell apart, regardless of the big corporation behind them. The new LG Xboom Bounce takes a rather different route. Developed in collaboration with musician and tech entrepreneur will.i.am, the Bluetooth speaker has enough visual flair to make you look at it twice.
Xboom Bounce Summary
The LG Xboom Bounce is a Bluetooth speaker that tries something different in a segment filled with increasingly similar designs. Developed with will.i.am, it combines an unusual shape, visible passive radiators and red accents with warm, punchy sound. Battery life is also impressive. However, the flimsy carrying strap and complicated LG ThinQ app take away some of the shine. I think it is a fun option for anyone looking for a speaker with personality.
