One of the most amazing aspects of owning a Chromecast dongle is the experience of watching the new wallpapers from Google Plus that are displayed on the television screen when the device is not being used for casting videos. As the pictures are shot using professional cameras, the detail and quality is usually brilliant. Now, the search giant has announced that it is bringing this experience to your Android and Mac devices.

The search giant has released the 'Featured Photos Screensaver' app that allows users' Mac devices to display selected wallpapers from Google Plus when the desktop is left idle. After installation of the screensaver app, users can find 'Google Featured' as an option in the 'Desktop & Screen Saver' preferences window, notes 9to5Google. Every time that the desktop goes to sleep mode, new wallpaper will turn up for the users.

The screensaver app is 7.8MB in size and can be downloaded from over here for free. The app is compatible with OS X 10.9 Mavericks and above. The pictures come with attribution to the photographers on the bottom-right to make it easier for the users to find them on Google Plus.

The Android users can choose to set images from Google Plus as their wallpapers on their home screen or lock screen by selecting the option of 'Google+' as source on Google's Wallpapers app, which was released by the company last month. The wallpapers are automatically updated by the app every single day.

Considering that the communities of professional photographers on Google Plus is very active and regularly share their works on the website, your wallpapers on mobile and idle desktops don't need to look dull again.
