  • Google Maps now has a new Upcoming Tab
  • This allows users to see their future events on Google Maps
  • This new feature is exclusive to Android users for now

Google has interconnected Maps and Calendar bringing more ease in travel for users. With the latest update, Google Maps for Android has a new Upcoming Tab that shows all places that the user need to go in the future, and can navigate its route for the same.

Google Maps will now show future events and reservations in the new Upcoming Tab. The tab can be found inside the menu, in the 'Your Places' section. The Upcoming Tab will show all the events that are fed into your Calendar app. For these places to reflect in Maps, ensure that you fill the 'Where' section while making an event in the Calendar section. After you've fed the information in Calendar, the places that you need to visit, will automatically show up, the most recent one being on top. Just selecting the place will activate the navigation screen, and Google Maps will then show you the fastest route to your destination.

Google Maps now also allows you to add stickers to your Home, Work, and other destinations for more visual pleasure. Labels can also be created for frequently visited places, as those destinations will then show up in search through their label name as well. This update has only been rolled out to Android users, and we aren't sure when iOS and desktop users will get to take advantage of this nifty feature.

Google Maps for Android recently also got the 'OK Google' command activation, allowing users to begin navigation without touching the smartphone. Users can now ask its Android smartphone to start navigation, change navigation, or add another route, just by preceding the corresponding voice command with the 'OK Google' hotword.
