Google Play Movies and Music All Access services roll out to new regions

Google has expanded access the Google Play Movies and Music All Access feature to a new batch of countries worldwide.

While Google Play Music is now additionally available to folks in Sweden, Norway, Greece and Slovakia, Google Play Movies has been rolled out to 37 new countries, out which some key regions are Chile, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Rwanda, Sweden and Venezuela. It is worth pointing out that in the new locations where Google Play Movies has been rolled out, users can only watch rented movies from Google. TV shows are still limited to the US, UK, Australia and Japan.

On the other hand, Play Music comes with Google's All Access music streaming service. The rates vary per region, with users in Slovakia required to pay $7 per month (after the 30 day trial period), which is a fair bit less than what Greek users pay, at $11. Users from Sweden and Norway would have to pay approximately $15 per month to subscribe.

Google also announced numerous updates to its Google Play Games service at the Game Developers Conference 2014, including improved and wider multiplayer support, a new gifting option, a new Play Games C++ SDK, 18 new game categories, new developers tools, and more.

Notably, the firm announced Google Play Game services now supports multiplayer on iOS, bringing cross-platform turn-based and realtime multiplayer support for Android and iOS. Additionally, the 'Play Games Unity Plug-In' has been updated by Google to support the cross-platform multiplayer services. Other details can be found in our previous coverage.
