Google wants to make it easier for you to plan your next vacation. The search giant already gathers information about you through its sites like Gmail, and in return the company gives you Google Trips - a personalised travel guide and planner app that provides you all the necessary information about a particular destination to help you plan an itinerary.

According to Google, planning a trip is the most stressful aspect of traveling. And Google wants to reduce that stress with the new app. "Each trip contains key categories of information, including day plans, reservations, things to do, food & drink, and more, so you have everything you need at your fingertips," Google says in a blog post.

Google Trips is available for free on Android and iOS, and you can download it from Google Play or the App Store. Apart from organising your flight, hotel, car, and restaurant reservations gleaned from your Gmail account, and the app can help you plan by showing popular itineraries for more than 200 cities around the world, allowing you to pick and choose the sights and sounds you want to see to create your own plan. The app also works offline, which means you can download your entire itinerary offline so you won't have to waste costly international data when you arrive.

But the app doesn't just stop there. You can also manually add specific destinations that you know you want to visit, and Google Trips will fill the gaps in your itinerary with recommendations based on the location. If you happen to visit one of the 200 cities Google Trips currently supports, your itinerary will provide tourist attractions, landmarks, and restaurants to visit before the day is over.

For months now Google has been working on ways to help users plan the perfect getaway. In March, Google launched Destinations which helps users find available flight and hotel prices instantly right from Google Search. In July, Google added a feature that lets you know the estimated time that people spend at a particular location, helping users plan their visit.

Google Trips is a culmination of the company's efforts to make traveling ridiculously easy to plan and execute. You can log in to Trips using your Google account and the app will show you a list of upcoming and previously completed trips. The Things To Do option in the app builds a custom itinerary based on your duration of visit.
