OnePlus Switch app is the Chinese phone maker's solution for a smoother transition from any other Android smartphone to a OnePlus phone, and it was first released on Google Play in January this year. The OnePlus Switch app has now received the latest version 2.1 software update that brings support for migrate launcher, wallpapers, application arrangement, manual connection to mobile hotspots, and backup for application data. The app is also now more compatible with more Android models. OnePlus Switch has a file size of about 9.6MB, and is compatible with devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop and above.

The OnePlus Switch 2.1 update is now available for download on Google Play. Users can now even migrate their preferred launcher to a OnePlus phone including elements like app arrangement, customisations, and wallpapers; however, XDA Developers reports that currently only the OnePlus Launcher can be migrated.

Additionally, users can now migrate apps and app data across Android devices manually via mobile hotspot, instead of just using Wi-Fi. Application data backup is also now supported on the OnePlus Switch. Lastly, the changelog suggests that the app is now compatible with more Android models - however, the exact models are not known.

This major update comes at a time when the OnePlus 6T launch is nearing its due date. The smartphone has been teased across online and TV channels over the past few days. OnePlus' next smartphone is expected to sport a "waterdrop notch", an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a vertical dual rear camera setup. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, is expected to power the OnePlus 6T, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM.
