  • Paytm recently added ability to send money through Phonebook on Android

Paytm recently added the ability to send money to contacts directly through Phonebook on Android and now the company has added Post Cards on both iOS and Android versions of its app. If you are wondering what these post cards do, they essentially allow you to send money to your loved ones with customisation options and personalised text messages. Alongside, the company also introduced Paytm Automatic, which automatically tops up your Paytm wallet balance.

The Paytm app's version 5.10.0 update on Android and version 5.11.3 update on iOS brings along the ability to send Postcards to other users. In order to send post cards, users need to open the Paytm app and tap on the 'Postcards' option from the home screen inside the app. Users need to then choose the 'Send a Post Card' option and either enter the mobile number directly or choose the contact.

Then, Paytm users need to enter the amount that they want to send to their contacts and write a personalised text message of their choice. Finally, they can choose the design for their post card from the provided choices and their post card gets ready to be sent. Notably, users will get the refund for the entire amount if their contact does not accept the post card within 10 days.

"Now you can send gifts, wishes and blessings to your friends and family through Paytm Postcards. Why bother about gifts when you can send them Paytm Cash, that too with custom themes and message. On opening a postcard, the sent money will automatically be added to receiver's Paytm Wallet balance. Start exchanging Paytm Postcards now. Wait for the next update and see how much fun you can have with the Postcards!!" the company said on App Store.

Getting to Paytm Automatic, the feature is currently only available on the Android app. Users will be able to set a particular amount as a minimum balance for the wallet and also set the recharge amount whenever the balance dips below the minimum. This would essentially top-up the user's balance whenever it's running low. The amount will be added once a day, and in case the wallet balance exceeds the monthly usage limit, the amount will be added the month after.

The Paytm users on Android can also check out the order summary screen when they recharge or pay a bill to enable automatic payments through the app. Lastly, users on Android can also buy travel insurance along with the flight tickets. Deepak Abbot, Senior Vice President at Paytm, said in a tweet reply that the new Paytm Automatic feature will make its way to the iOS version of the app in around three weeks.
