Vine on Wednesday announced two new features for its iOS app that would let users view videos more quickly and even when they are offline.

The firm announced that it made a couple of changes in the latest app update, which will make the app start downloading content, including the user's home feed, activity notifications and Vines in Explore before the user opens the app.

Vine, as a part of its latest update has added network caching and has introduced a smaller video file size, which will result in quicker video download in case if the user has a slow Internet connection.

"Now, when you open Vine, you'll see that posts show up more quickly, even if you have a slower Internet connection or if you're offline, like on the subway or in airplane mode," added the Vine blog post.

The latest features are for now only available for Vine's iOS app, and will be reaching to Android platform soon, said the firm's Senior iOS Engineer, Michel Loenngren in the blog post.

Vine last month released an exclusive version of its app for kids, called Vine Kids. The Vine Kids for iOS uses animated characters and the company claims that "kids can watch videos that are appropriate for a young audience." The app has been tailored for kids and includes quirky sounds when the screen is tapped. Swiping right or left will show a new Vine.

It is worth mentioning that a website called Vine Masher was introduced last month complementing the Vine service by letting user create a playlist of Vine videos that can be easily shared with friends and social networks. The application is meant for those users who find it difficult to share multiple Vine videos to friends one by one.
