After launching the Xbox One console in India followed by China last month, Microsoft on Tuesday announced that Twitter's Vine, a popular video-sharing app, is now available for Xbox One console users in select regions.

"...Vine on Xbox One provides a spectacular Vine viewing experience for your TV that brings you one of the world's most used video apps alongside your favorite games and entertainment," stated the Xbox One blog post.

Notably, the Vine video-sharing app is currently available only for Xbox Live members in 34 countries, namely Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Hungary, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Xbox One users can play, pause, and search for Vine videos using the console's Kinect voice or gesture function. Users can also browse through "popular Vines, explore channels like Art, Music & Dance, and Comedy, view playlists, and more," as per the blog post. Vine for Xbox One supports the console's snap feature. The app can be snapped to games or TV or any other applications.

The Xbox One console is also set to receive the much-awaited October update. Microsoft's Larry Hryb, also known as Major Nelson, last month detailed the features that will arrive in the upcoming October update for the Xbox One consoles. The update is already available for the Xbox Live members in the preview program and will reach other gamers by October. Hyrb says the system software update brings features that can be classified into two themes - new Snap and Friends functions, and improvements for TV and video.
