Panasonic announced the Lumix GH5S during its keynote event at CES 2018 and now, the company has launched it in India at a price of Rs. 1,84,990. The camera sacrifices resolution for higher ISO sensitivity to deliver better low light video performance.

This model is an upgrade to Panasonic’s mirrorless Micro Four Thirds GH-series camera, which features a newly developed 10.2-megapixel sensor with dual ISO. The latter lets you push the sensor’s sensitivity to ISO 51200, along with an extended ISO support of up to 204,800. Another highlight feature is the ability of the GH5S to record in Cinema 4K resolution (2160x4096) up to 10-bit 4:2:2 video. It also comes pre-installed with HDR Hybrid Log Gamma and Panasonic’s V-Log L along with professional grade exposure tools.

Focusing options include face-eye recognition, tracking AF, 1-area AF and pinpoint AF. In addition, the Lumix GH5S has dual UHS-II SD memory card slots, USB 3.1 Type-C, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. The Panasonic camera is splash-proof, dust-proof, and even freeze-proof (down to –10 degree Celsius). The display on the back is a 3.2-inch, 1.62-million-dot, 120fps free-angle touchscreen.

“GH5S has received an overwhelming response ever since its launch at CES 2018,” said Yosuke Yamane, Director — Imaging Business, Panasonic Corporation. “With broadcast and digital mediums evolving at a fast rate globally, there is a huge demand for high-resolution videos that are richer, crisper and deliver exceptional quality under low-light conditions. The robustly built GH5S caters to such specific demands of professional cinematographers and videographers, alike,” he added.
