Rovio Entertainment has finally revealed the next instalment of the Angry Birds franchise, called Angry Birds Stella: Best Friends Forever. Rovio has not mentioned the exact date of the game's arrival. The game was first teased by Rovio on Wednesday, with a tweet saying: "Big adventure with new birds coming soon! #NewAngryBirds."

Rovio has given some background on the story of the game. Six new characters have been introduced in Angry Birds Stella, with Stella being the protagonist (see pink bird in the image). Rovio describes Stella as one of the Angry Birds who is fierce and feisty besides appearing cute. The game's story will also include enemies to fight. "Of course no story is complete without some interesting (fr)enemies!," states the Rovio website.

The website claims that the game would be full of "fun and adventure" along with some other side issues going on in the story "but the bunch of passionate pals will also have to deal with some serious issues in order to protect their friendship and the environment they live in."

There are no particular dates mentioned for Angry Birds Stella release. However, the Rovio website states the game will arrive "in the fall of this year." Rovio will this time expand the reach of its latest game via animated movies, books, toys and other things.

Before Angry Birds Stella: Best Friends Forever, Rovio released its Angry Birds Go! game for iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8 and BlackBerry 10. The game is Rovio's first major free-to-play Angry Birds title and the first time players get to see the Angry Birds world in 3D as they race through Piggy Island.
