  • EA's new multiplayer trailer for Medal Of Honor:Warfighter, the next installment in the Medal of Honor series, hits the web.
EA has just revealed the much awaited trailer for its new installment of Medal of Honor: Warfighter, which showcases the multiplayer gameplay, as a prelude to the worldwide multiplayer of the game unveiling at E3. It is the 14th installment in the epic Medal of Honor series and is a direct sequel to the 2010 EA reboot - Medal of Honor.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter was revealed on 23rd February, 2012. It will use the upgraded Frostbite 2 engine, the very one that powered Battlefield 3 and Need For Speed - The Run. The Multiplayer is not being made by DICE this time round, it is all under development by Danger Close studios.

The story focuses on two Navy SEALs of AFO Neptune, namely Mother and Preacher, which were the protagonists of the 2010 installment. Preacher, Mother, Voodoo and other central characters are said to return as well. The single player story mode will continue where the predecessor left off where players will continue to control Tier 1 Operators through various scenarios, including rescuing hostages in Abu Sayyaf's stronghold in the Philippines, and assaulting Al-Shabaab's Pirate Town on the Somali Coast. There will also be a new co-op mode, which is separate from the single-player mode.

The trailer reveals a set of locations with "Global Terror" written on a disintegrating world map and several locations are highlighted as spots of conflict. There are several gunfire scenes where the player is controlling and firing from RHIBs (Rigid Hulled Inflatable Boat) which seems to be the tool which EA is using to sell this edition just like it used the composite bow to hype Crysis 3. At the end one sees several country names which are the choices you can use in multiplayer and features the names of 13 playable Tier-1 special forces units from 10 countries. They are:

  • SEAL - Navy SEALs, USA
  • GROM - Grupa Reagowania Operacyjno-Manewrowego, POLAND
  • SFOD-D - 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta, USA
  • SAS - Special Air Service, BRITAIN
  • JTF2 - Joint Task Force 2, CANADA
  • FSK - Forsvarets Spesialkommando, NORWAY
  • OGA - Other Government Agency, USA
  • KSK - Kommando Spezialkrafte, GERMANY
  • HJK - Haerens Jegerkommando, NORWAY
  • ROKN UDT - Republic of Korea Naval Special Warfare Brigade (Seals), KOREA
  • SASR - Special Air Service Regiment, AUSTRALIA
  • GRUPPA ALFA - Alpha Group, RUSSIA
  • SOG - Sarskilda operationsgruppen, SWEDEN

The end of the trailer announces Limited Edition pre-orders of Warfighter. The Limited Edition unlocks the U.S. Navy SEAL Tier 1 Sniper and the McMillan Tac-300 sniper rifle upon the game's launch, an unlock that would otherwise require about 40 hours of gameplay. It will be compatible with PS3, Xbox 360, PC and even the new Nintendo Wii U. Medal of Honor: Warfighter is slated for release on 23rd October, 2012 and the Limited Edition is available for pre-order for PC on origin.com and is priced at Rs. 1499.
