Hotly anticipated sci-fi role-playing game Mass Effect: Andromeda doesn’t have an official release date yet. With more details for it expected on November 7, it appears that the release date for the game has leaked.

According to a listing on Amazon for an art book of the game spotted by gaming blog Destructoid, you can expect Mass Effect: Andromeda on March 21, 2017. Reason being, that’s the release date for the book and it comes with the following text:

“Dark Horse will release The Art of Mass Effect: Andromeda simultaneously with the game!”

Big console and PC games usually hit the US on a Tuesday which is what March 21 is. Incidentally, an early 2017 release would put it on par with the release window of Mass Effect 2 and 3 which were out in the same timeframe. It's also a safe bet considering that the holiday season of 2016 will see a host of heavy hitters include EA's own Battlefield 1 and Activision's Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

The latest entry in EA's storied sci-fi role-playing game franchise seems ambitious. "This is a galaxy where you are the alien," claimed producer Aaryn Flynn.

The overarching plot has players travelling the universe in search of a new home. Details are scarce and with a slew of crucial staffers leaving the project earlier this year, the CG-fuelled trailer gave us little confidence.

There will be a new ship that's called the Tempest (compared to Normandy from the original trilogy), and a new online mode as well.

In the past few months it lost some key figures working on the game. These include Chris Wynn, the game's development director who landed a job at Daybreak Games on zombie MMO H1Z1, it's lead writer Chris Schlerf who moved to Bungie to work on Destiny, and Cameron Harris, it's senior editor who exited the games industry altogether.
