Highlights
  • No Man’s Sky will be available in India on August 13
  • The original release date was August 10
  • No reason for the delay has been given

After many a delay and much drama, No Man's Sky is out the world over. Following a street date break in the UAE that saw the game available almost a week ahead of release and consequently, saw early releases in the US and UK, you'd be hard pressed to think of a country that hasn't got the game yet. That is until you consider India.

Disc copies of the game on the PS4 have been delayed. Several sites such as Amazon have listed it being available from August 13.

According to multiple sources speaking to Gadgets 360, no reason for the delay has been given. Sony India simply informed retailers that August 13 is the new release date. This is a bit of an oddity for a host of reasons. Sony usually gets the games it publishes into the country well ahead of time. Be it the likes of Uncharted 4 or Bloodborne, there hasn't been a delay for its games since Driveclub and LittleBigPlanet 3 were launched extremely late. At the time it was having operational issues with its then distributor Milestone Interactive.

In the more recent past, Sony has flat out not brought titles in at launch such as Tearaway, Ratchet & Clank, and Gravity Rush Remastered to name a few.

Hopefully this is a one-off delay. With a host of high profile games expected in the coming months such as GT Sport and The Last Guardian, it would be tragic to see these not being available on time.

For what it's worth, the game is available digitally via the Indian PlayStation Store and should be ready to download and play by now. Or if you prefer the PC version, it should unlock on August 12.
