One billion downloads for Angry Birds

  • Angry Birds has made a record by being downloaded a billion times.
Popular game Angry Birds has reached the milestone of one billionth cumulative downloads. Rovio, the maker of Angry Birds, has informed that they are taking into account their full range of games, including the original Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons, Angry Birds Rio, and, Angry Birds Space to get the 1 billion downloads number.
 
Angry Birds was first launched as an iOS app in December 2009 and later debuted on other platforms as well. Angry Bird Space is the latest installment in the Angry Birds series, which was launched on March 22, 2012. This installment also smashed all previous records by being downloaded over 50 million times in just 35 days.

Earlier in the week, Rovio had announced that their profits have increased by ten folds last year and it is planning to get listed by next year. The company also shared their plans to launch a non-Angry Birds game in the future.
