Sony will not be bringing PS4 exclusive Ratchet & Clank to India. Retail sources have told Gadgets 360 that the game will not be making it to stores in the country, leaving those who want to buy the game with a digital download or parallel import as their only options.

"Yes, the game is not coming in officially," a buyer for at an independent game store confirmed. "It's a bit sad considering every other Ratchet & Clank game since the PS2 era has made it to India," he added.

Other retailers aren't as nostalgic, claiming the lack of demand and Sony's restructuring after the departure of PlayStation boss Atindriya Bose, laying waste to any plans of the game making it.

"To be honest, it's not a game they [Sony] can do massive quantities on. Right now all their focus is on Uncharted 4," an online reseller explained. In addition to this, he told us that Sony has increased its minimum order quantity after releasing its compilation of Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls on the PS4.

"For that game [Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls Collection] Sony brought in 705 units. But going forward they want to do double that as the minimum order for the country," he says.

From all accounts, it seems that there is pressure on Sony India to deliver in terms of game sales what with a PS4 install base that's due to hit 100,000 consoles soon. But with the focus on bigger games like Uncharted 4, it's safe to say that Ratchet & Clank might not be the only PS4 exclusive to miss India. Then again, with Microsoft's Xbox One distribution not being as widespread, it reeks of complacency in a market that's Sony's for the taking. After all, while the rest of the world has PlayStation VR up for pre-order, Sony India has been decidedly mum on its plans.

Hopefully we see the game making it here eventually. Much like Tearaway did after skipping India initially.
