In our weekly column Personally Tech, we talk to the men and women from different walks of life who are making the products we love. Some of the people we've spoken to in the past include the Clovia CEO Pankaj Vermani, Heybiz founder Bhartesh Chibbar, and Coverfox CEO Varun Dua.

This week, we caught up with Vipin Agarwal, the CEO of OnlineTyari, a mobile-focused educational platform. Read on to know more about the apps and gadgets that Purohit swears by.

Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
Vipin Agarwal: Being an avid traveller/ trekker and also a business person, I prefer things that are minimal in form factor and design, and yet multi-functional in use. I trust my MacBook Pro for personal computing and use an Acer One for taking with me to meetings and travel. My phone keeps changing though I'm using Android [handset] for now.

In my meeting rooms at work and also at home, I use a Chromecast to replicate my media viewing experience on a phone, tablet, and TV. Then there's Epson MX-14 multi-function printer that I have at home and work that helps me print, scan and fax documents quickly.

What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
Vipin Agarwal: The two most used applications are Google Maps and Google Inbox. Google Maps is important for when I'm traveling to a new location, and Google Inbox is great for staying in touch with my work and friends. Apart from that, I like using different news apps to stay up to date, and I use the apps for my bank accounts as well.

What is the one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
Vipin Agarwal: This would most definitely be the travel adapter - different power sockets, multiple devices and shorter battery lives - all have made this device the most indispensable one in my travel bag.

What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
Vipin Agarwal: A voice detection device that can understand my verbal instructions through language processing capabilities. Voice assistants on our phones are a nice first step but they need to be much more universal.

How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Vipin Agarwal: The greatest change is in the ability to access information and being able to stay connected to people across the world. The degree of separation from people has definitely become smaller and I find it extremely useful to reach out to friends of friends at all times.
