Flipkart to Offer Exchange Deals on Mobiles, TVs, and More Every Month

Flipkart has announced its new 'Big Exchange Days' scheme where consumers can get their old electronic device exchanged and upgrade to a new one. The e-commerce company has also confirmed that the 'Big Exchange Days' will be scheduled on the first two days of every month.

The 'Big Exchange Days' scheme currently has a lot of smartphones on discount after the exchange offer, including the Motorola Moto G (Gen 3), Moto X Play, and Asus ZenFone 2 among others.

Under the new scheme, consumers will be offered doorstep exchange for their old device and can choose from a wide range of devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops, televisions, refrigerators and washing machines. Flipkart in a press statement claims that to ensure a smooth end-to-end experience for customers, "every delivery executive has been specially trained to understand the process along with the exchange quality check methods." Consumers can avail the 'Big Exchange Days' scheme via the Flipkart app, desktop site, as well as Flipkart Lite app.

Some of the phones available under the 'Big Exchange Days' scheme include the Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) which currently has up to Rs. 6,000 off after exchange; the Moto X Play has up to Rs. 9,000 off; the Moto G Turbo has up to Rs. 6,000 off on exchange; the HTC Desire 828 has up to Rs. 10,000 off after exchange; the Asus ZenFone 2 has up to Rs. 10,000 off after exchange; the Moto X Style has up to Rs. 15,000 off after exchange; the Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G has up to Rs. 5,000 off after exchange offer; the Nexus 6P has up to Rs. 20,000 after exchange; the Lenovo A2010 has up to Rs. 2,000 off after exchange, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has up to Rs. 20,000 off after exchange. Consumers can check all the offers available on mobiles via this page.

The company details that for smartphones, the IMEI number, screen and overall condition of the products will be checked by the delivery executive at the hand-to-hand exchange point. On the other hand, for products like the televisions, the delivery executive will have to mount it and check the working conditions of the product. The same method will be followed to check the condition of laptop, and washing machine among other products to check if it is in good shape.

Commenting on the announcement, Ankit Nagori, Chief Business Officer, Flipkart said, "The average cycle in India for replacing a phone is 18-24 months and we are witnessing similar trends in the television category. Customers are continuously looking to upgrade to the next new-age model, but disposing off the previously owned models has always been a concern. The Flipkart Exchange Programme offers customers a holistic solution to the whole process of looking for buyers of their old products and buy new products."

"We foresee this programme to be a big hit amongst our customers and expect it to drive 20% of the sales in these categories by the end of this year." Ankit added.
