After the runaway success of Twitch Plays Pokemon, where thousands of people used the text chat feature of live-streaming service Twitch to control a game of Pokemon simultaneously, we've now gone to a fresh level of absurdity, with around 13,000 people watching a fish playing the famous game. All told, the stream has already seen over 1 million views.

The screen has been divided into a 3x3 grid, and commands are being given to the game depending on the position of the fish on the screen.

As the fish swims around, different "buttons" are being pressed automatically, and it proves beyond a doubt that fish really are terrible at Pokemon. The fish, Grayson, was stuck in a corner for a while which led to people thinking it had died, but it was a false alert as the fish was just sleeping.

The game is really slow and after 135 hours of swimming around, Grayson has just acquired his first Pokemon, a Charmander named AAAABBK and also defeated his first opponent, a Squirtle.

The whole project was created in just 24 hours by Catherine Moresco and Patrick Facheris, and while the video itself isn't that much fun to watch, the comments are outright hilarious.

The creators have warned that the stream will be down in a few weeks as they are about to move, but have promised to bring the stream back, with new features that should speed up gameplay a little.
