Apple's malware troubles are far from over and Cupertino is way behind in terms of security from its rival Microsoft, claimed Kaspersky founder and CEO Eugene Kaspersky.

According to a report in CBR, in the wake of recent malware attacks on Apple's Mac computers, company will have to change the way it approaches security updates and patches, as it is likely to be just the start of a new wave of attacks.

"I think they are ten years behind Microsoft in terms of security," Kaspersky told CBR.

He stated that his company is seeing more and more malwares made for Mac computers, which is normal considering the increasing popularity of Apple computers. However as PC sales are still way-up, so Windows will continue to get love from cyber criminals.

Kaspersky notes that Apple is now entering the same world as Microsoft has been in for more than 10 years, which means more updates, security patches and so on. Given the success of recent attacks, cyber criminals are likely to increase the frequency of their attacks.

Apple will have to revisit its update cycle for patches, in order to keep its consumers protected.
