Dell Chromebook 5190, a New Student-Focused Laptop, Launched in 2 Variants

Dell on Wednesday announced the launch of the latest Dell Chromebook 5190 in its Chromebook 5000 Series at the Bett Show, taking place in London from January 24-27. The Chromebook 5190 will be available on two variants - 11-inch clamshell and 2-in-1 convertible. The new Dell Chromebook is also claimed to offer a battery life of up to 13 hours. Devices in this range will be available starting February 2018 at a starting price tag of $289 (roughly Rs. 18,400).

The Chromebook manufacturer claims that it is the first one to develop devices that can withstand up to 10,000 micro drops. Other features in the Dell Chromebook 5000 Series include EMR Pen support, World Facing Camera for videos, USB Type-C connectivity, and dual core/ quad core Intel Celeron processors.

The Dell Chromebook 5190 has been created for the academic domain, especially students. It claims to offer advanced features custom built for the classroom environment.

Our unique, experienced approach puts the student at the centre and technology is leveraged to access the learning resources, information and functionality make personalisation just a few clicks away," said Dell in a blog post.

The Bett Show in London also saw the launch of Acer's new Chromebook Spin 11, Chromebook 11 C732, and Chromebox CXI3. The Chromebook 11 C732 is an education-focused laptop with an IP41 rating. It comes at a competitive starting price of $299.99 (roughly Rs. 19,000) for the touch variants and $279.99 (roughly Rs. 17,800) for the non-touch models.
