HP on Wednesday launched cheaper and refreshed Pavilion x360 and Envy x360 convertible laptops (also called fold-back hybrids) along with a range of Pavilion models. While the new Pavilion and Pavilion x360 models will be available starting May 13 on HP website and June 21 with retailers, the Envy x360 range will be available starting June 13. HP has yet to provide details of pricing availability outside the US.

HP's new Pavilion lineup starts from $480 (roughly Rs. 30,200), the Pavilion x360 and Envy x360 models start from $410 (roughly Rs. 25,800) and $680 (roughly Rs. 42,800) respectively, as reported by Engadget.

Both the Envy x360 (seen above) and Pavilion x360 sub-categories are convertible laptops, with the geared hinge (used in the Spectre x360) allowing the display and keyboard to be folded atop each other so that the laptops can be used as tablets. The costlier Envy x360 model flaunts a metallic finish and bigger 15.6-inch IPS touchscreen. Both also include speakers and audio tweaked by Bang & Olufsen, HP's new audio partner after Beats.

The HP Envy x360 comes with different configurations, with a choice between fifth generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 and up to 16GB of RAM. The entry-level model offers a 500GB hard drive and an HD (1366x768 pixel) resolution display, while the highest $770 model comes with 1TB of storage and full-HD resolution display. A 256GB SSD model is also available, and so is the choice of a dedicated Nvidia GPU. The laptop will only be available in a brushed metal Silver finish.

The HP Pavilion x360's (seen above) 11-inch basic model comes powered by an Intel Pentium N3700 coupled with 4GB of RAM (up to 8GB). However, at $500 users can get a Intel Core M processor with 128GB SSD storage. Both the 11-inch models will be fanless, and feature HD (1366x768 pixel) touchscreens. The 11-inch models also come in Silver, Red, Purple, and Green options. The range also includes a 13-inch display variant (1366x768 pixel touchscreen, with an optional 1920x1080 pixel touchscreen) at $530 that features Intel Core i3 processor and 500GB hard disk, apart from up to 16GB of RAM. The 13-inch models come in Silver and Red colours.

Lastly, the new HP Pavilion laptops (seen above) introduced by the firm are non-convertible and offer 14-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch display sizes. Prices start from $480, and all models include optical drives. Users have the choice of HD (1366x768 pixel) or full-HD (1920x1080 pixel) displays in both touchscreen and non-touch options. The new Pavilion series also offers a choice of AMD-A series APUs, or fifth generation Intel Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors. Discrete graphics options will also be made available.
