Toshiba on Tuesday launched the Satellite P50 laptop with Windows 8.1 in India at Rs. 86,000, as part of its 'Greatest of All' laptop range. The company says the Satellite P50 features the world's first 'Ultra 4K TruBrite 15.6-inch touchscreen display', with a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels.

The Japanese electronics giant is also touting the Satellite P50's slim-design (it is 27.9mm-thick), and its Harman Kardon stereo speakers that come with the company's Sleep & Music feature, allowing users to listen to music even when the laptop is in sleep mode.

The Satellite P50 (specifically, P50t-B) is powered by a fourth generation Intel Core H series processor (Core i7-4700HQ), and up to 16GB of 1600MHz DDR3L RAM. It features an AMD Radeon R9 M265X dedicated GPU, and comes with a 1TB 3D sensor HDD.

Toshiba introduced its first laptops with 4K UHD displays at CES 2014, touting them as the world's first such laptops. The two laptops, Tecra W50 and the Satellite P50t, are targeted at different segments, with the former meant for professionals and businesses, and the latter meant for home users.

Toshiba had then said, "Today Toshiba has made 4K display technology more accessible to mobile professionals and enthusiasts by announcing two exciting new Windows 8.1 laptops that feature integrated 15.6" 4K Ultra-HD displays. These new Toshiba 4K laptops will take laptop screen resolution to the next level!"
