In our weekly column Personally Tech we talk to people from all walks of life to learn about the apps and gadgets that they love and can't live without. Technology has changed the way we all live and work, in myriad ways.

This week, we caught up with Amit Boni, General Manager, Motorola India. Boni is a company man through and through, and uses a Motorola phone and a Lenovo laptop, and even the Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch. He says that the smartwatch has become a more important part of his daily routine than he expected, and dreams of holographic meeting systems as seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Read on to know about the gadgets and apps that Amit Boni swears by.

Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use and why?
Amit Boni
: I stick to the basic laptop and phone combination. I use a Lenovo Thinkpad(https://www.gadgets360.com/tags/thinkpad) and a Motorola Moto Turbo. I used to carry around other gadgets, but my phone has steadily replaced most of them - I have a great music player, a GPS, and a 21-megapixel camera in my pocket. The only other gadget I keep with me is my Moto 360 smartwatch.

What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without and why?
Amit Boni
: The most important apps for me are Motorola Assist - it provides a lot of contextual awareness to the phone and is very useful because it automatically changes the settings when you go into a meeting or are driving. The other one is Hangouts which we use for internal communications in the office. We don't rely on email for a lot of quick conversations. The other apps will often keep changing.

Which is the one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without and why?
Amit Boni
: Definitely my Moto 360 smartwatch. Once you start wearing it, you start to realise the value of a smarwatch. If I forget to put it on in the morning now, then my whole day becomes very uncomfortable. I've come to rely on it completely and wouldn't leave home without it.

What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
Amit Boni
: I'd love for a holographic meeting system like you see in the movies to replace Hangouts, so that we can hold meetings that feel like you're all really in the same room.

How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Amit Boni
: Technology has massively changed the way we work. Today I will take a call via Hangouts, or I'll be driving and I'll get directions from my watch. I travel a lot for work, and I capture moments and upload them as I go along using my phone. Technology becomes a part of everyday life, and helps us to stay connected, no matter what.
