In a rather interesting set of leaks, 35 HTC smartphones have surfaced online listed under various code names with the much rumoured HTC M7 under no less than 8 different versions.

Android Authority reports that the list mentions the Opera_UL more commonly recognised as the Facebook Phone. Talks of this phone have been around since November 2011, though HTC and Facebook have collaborated earlier and launched the ChaCha and Salsa phones with a dedicated Facebook button and deep integration of the social network.

Further reports from The New York Times in May last year mentioned that the social networking giant has hired more than half a dozen Apple engineers who worked on the iPhone and iPad to build a Facebook smartphone. Then Bloomberg reported that the phone will debut in mid 2013. Now that the phone's name has resurfaced once again, we'll know for soon whether or not it is for real.

Moving on, the list also mentions Deluxe that has been released as the Butterfly, Evita or the One XL and K2 better known as the One SV. The Deluxe shows three more versions and so does the K2. Could these be just upgrades or different models entirely? We'll have to wait and see.

Other never heard before codenamed include Monaco, Impression_J and Primominiu. The blog notes that the last one could be a successor to the Primo known as the HTC One V (Review I Pictures). It also highlights that the Quattro, seen here in two versions and Verdi were thought to be tablets, while the Venus was most likely an entry-level smartphone. These were earlier abandoned while under development. Other unknown names include Pulse, Apollo, Era,PDLU, Jet and CP3.

The HTC M7 however seems to be the cream of the crop with 8 different names. Is HTC on to something big? We don't know for sure but a first look at the M7 is expected at CES this year. The device is likely to be powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The cameras are 13-megapixel (rear) and 2-megapixel (front), both capable of recording full-HD video. The HTC M7 will reportedly boast of 2300mAh battery and run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
