Asus India on Friday at a ZenFone 2 media preview confirmed that it will only launch the 5.5-inch screen variants of the smartphone lineup. The launch is scheduled for April 23.

This would mean three variants of the ZenFone 2 smartphone will be launched, the ZE551ML (4GB of RAM), ZenFone 2 ZE551ML (2GB of RAM), and the ZenFone 2 ZE550ML (5.5-inch HD display). The Asus ZenFone 2 ZE500CL, which features a 5-inch HD display, will not be launched in India.

The Taiwanese company had previously confirmed that it would be bringing three variants of the ZenFone 2 to India.

The Taiwanese handset maker launched the ZenFone 2 series in Taiwan last month, while it recently introduced the handsets to the European market.
