Gionee has introduced a new budget smartphone, the Pioneer P6, listing it on its site without detailing official price or availability.

The Gionee Pioneer P6, on the other hand, is also available online via a third-party retailer at a price of Rs. 8,890. So far, there has been no launch announcement from Gionee.

The Pioneer P6 is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device which runs the Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It comes with a 5-inch (480x854 pixels) FWVGA display.

The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex A7 (unspecified chipset) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and Mali 400 MP GPU. The Gionee Pioneer P6 comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard. The rear camera features face beauty, Panorama, face detection, geo-tagging, touch to focus, continuous shots, gesture shot, and smile shot options.

On the connectivity front, the Gionee Pioneer P6 offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options. The smartphone packs a 1950mAh battery, which according to the official listing is rated to deliver up to 13.5 hours of talk time and up to 162 hours of standby time on 2G network. It measures 142.8x74.3x8.6mm and is listed in Black and White colours. The Gionee Pioneer P6 is currently available to buy from eBay India.

Last month, Chinese handset maker Gionee revealed plans to start manufacturing in India and said that it was awaiting clarity on government policy on the matter before taking the plunge.
