A new HTC Android smartphone, Desire 200 ,targeted at the budget segment, has made an online appearance in a video even before its launch.

Spotted by Vietnamese website, Thegioididong, the HTC Desire 600 borrows some design elements from HTC's flagship phone, the HTC One, though it sports a compact form factor.

The phone features a 3.5-inch LCD screen that has a resolution of 320x480 pixels. It's powered by a 1GHz single-core processor and will have 512MB of RAM. It will come with 4GB internal storage expandable via microSD card and a 1400 mAh battery. The rear camera on the phone would have a 5-megapixel resolution and does not appear to come with a flash. The phone in the video runs Android  4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich but it's expected that it would come with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or later when it launches. It will feature HTC's Sense UI layer on top.

The phone's earpiece resembles the HTC One's front speaker grills. It has three capacitive touch buttons below the screen like most recent HTC phones. The phone's back looks similar to that of the HTC Desire C. It will also feature Beats Audio as apparent from the branding at the back.

Judging by the phone's specifications, the HTC Desire 200 appears to be an entry-level Android smartphone. The screen resolution and the phone's 512MB RAM would definitely limit its appeal in a world where smartphone prices are on a decline and hardware specifications are receiving a bump.

HTC had recently launched the Desire 600, a dual-SIM (dual-active) smartphone that offers HTC's latest Sense 5 experience including BlinkFeed and BoomSound, most recently launched as part of the HTC One (Review | Pictures).

HTC Desire 600 sports a 4.5-inch Super LCD2 display of 540x960 resolution and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor alongside 1GB of RAM alongside 8GB of expandable storage. It comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing 1.6-megapixel shooter.
