Intex Aqua Craze, Aqua Lite Budget Smartphones Launched in India

Intex has unveiled its new Aqua Craze (seen above) smartphone in India at Rs. 6,190. Additionally, the Aqua Lite has also been launched by the company with a listing on its site that's complete with a price of Rs. 3,199. Not availability details of the latter were mentioned however.

The dual-SIM Intex Aqua Craze runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and features a 5-inch (720x1280 pixel) IPS display. The new Intex smartphone is powered by a 1GHz quad-core processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM.

Sporting an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera, the Intex Aqua Craze also sports a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It bears 8GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card (32GB). Connectivity options include 3G (HSPA+), 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB 2.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Aqua Craze is backed by a 2500mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 5-8 hours of talk time and up to 168 hours of standby time. It bears an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.

Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business Head, Intex Technologies said, "Aqua Craze is a brilliant device from the house of Intex and is a true delight for the consumers. The affordable 4G smart phone has features which will leave the consumers spell bound. We are honoured and delighted that this latest offering from Intex has been launched by the honorable Secretary, DoT. This will surely act as an impetus for us and encourage us further in our "Make in India" journey."

Some of the pre-loaded apps on the Aqua Craze include Opera Mini, Clean Master, Newshunt, Matrabhasha, Myntra, and Chaatz. The smartphone comes in Grey, White and Champagne Gold colours.

Coming to the Intex Aqua Lite, we see the smartphone features a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) display and comes with a pixel density of 240 ppi.

The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Aqua Lite (seen above) smartphone offers dual-SIM support. The handset is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor clubbed with 512MB of RAM. It packs 4GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports a 2-megapixel rear and front camera. The rear camera is equipped with an LED flash. Connectivity options include GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB. Measuring 126x64x10.3mm, the Aqua Lite will be available in a White colour variant. It is backed by a 1400mAh battery.
