Oppo Partners Reliance Jio to Offer Up to 100GB Additional Data

Chinese handset maker Oppo on Monday partnered with telecom operator Reliance Jio to provide special data benefits to new buyers of its smartphones.

According to the new offer, customers who purchase a new Oppo handset and recharge with a denomination of Rs. 309 or above will get additional 4G data up to 100GB (up to 10 recharges).

"For Oppo, customer satisfaction and delivering the best experience has always been a key focus area. Through this association, we will be able to reach out to more consumers," said Will Yang, Brand Director, Oppo India, in a statement.

Specifically, Oppo F5, F3, F3 Plus, and F1 Plus buyers will get up to 100GB of data, with up to 10GB of data for up to 10 recharges. Oppo F1s, A33F, A37F, A36Fw, A57, and A71 will get up to 60GB of data, with up to 10GB data for up to 6 recharges.

Validity of the additional data voucher would be same as that of the base plan. Additional data voucher would be credited in MyJio application under My Vouchers section within 48 hours of recharge. To activate Additional Data voucher, customer is required to download MyJio app on the Oppo device and follow steps - MyJio > My Vouchers > View Voucher > Recharge > Recharge my Number > Confirm Recharge > Successful Recharge Notification.

Earlier on Monday, Oppo announced a 6GB RAM variant of the Oppo F3 Plus, a selfie-focused smartphone it had launched in India back in March. Priced at Rs. 22,990, the Oppo F3 Plus 6GB RAM variant will go on sale from Thursday, November 16, exclusively via Flipkart. The e-commerce site has also listed launch offers for the smartphone. Apart from increased RAM, the smartphone's specifications remain identical, including on the dual front camera setup that made the original famous.

In the beginning of November, Oppo launched its F5 smartphone. Once again focused on selfies, the Oppo F5 bears a 20-megapixel sensor on the front camera as well as AI-based beautification software. Also on board is an iris tool that the company says will make eyes brighter in photos. The Oppo F5 price in India starts at Rs. 19,990 for the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant and goes up to Rs. 24,990 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant.
