Lava Iris 351, a low-cost Android smartphone has made an appearance on online retail websites, including Flipkart and Saholic. Available for a price of Rs. 3,899, the dual-SIM (GSM) smartphone is powered by a 1GHz processor, and comes with 256 MB of RAM on board. The phone runs Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. Lava has not officially launched the phone, though.

The Iris 351 sports a 3.5-inch touchscreen which has a resolution of 320X480 pixels, and also features a 2-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera. While the phone's internal memory is limited to 110MB, it does offer an SD Card slot, and the sales package includes a 4GB SD card. It supports memory cards of upto 16GB. The Lava Iris 351 doesn't offer support for 3G data but can connect to the Internet via GPRS/Edge. The handset also offers FM radio and FM radio recording. While the lack of 3G connectivity is a bit of a downer, the phone's essentially targeting feature phone buyers, who might not really care about the omission.

Lava had announced the Iris range of sub- Rs.10,000 Android smartphones, last year, and had introduced two smartphones, the Lava Iris N320 and Lava Iris N350 that time. A few days back, it launched the Iris N501, a phone that features a large screen (5-inches), priced at Rs. 9,999. The Iris N400 is another phone in the Iris range, that features a 4-inch screen, and is available at a price of Rs. 6,499. The company had said that it would launch seven Iris handsets till January 2013, and would add five more phones to this portfolio between January to March 2013.
