Moto G dual-SIM variant reportedly receiving Android 4.4.2 KitKat update

Moto G dual-SIM variant, which has launched in India on Wednesday, is now reportedly receiving the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

According to a report by GadgetMTech Blog, the update is being rolled out in Malaysia, so one can expect it to reach Indian shores soon. The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update comes with a new phone dialler application and brings SMS/MMS support to Google Hangouts, amongst various other changes. The report mentions that the update weighs 230.7 MB and carries the build version of 171.44.31.en.03, but that might differ when the update is rolled out in India.

The Moto G features a 4.5-inch HD 'edge-to-edge' display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels (translating to a pixel density of 329ppi) and boasts of a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen. Powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with an Adreno 305 GPU, the Moto G features 1GB of RAM. On the optics front, the Moto G sports a 5-megapixel rear camera along with an LED flash and also includes a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera supports HD (720p) video recording. It runs Android 4.3 out-of-the-box, so the news of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update comes as a good news for Moto G users.

Moto G dual-SIM phone is available in 8GB and 16GB storage variants at Rs. 12,499 and Rs. 13,999 respectively. Also available in India are a range of accessories like the Moto G Back Cover at Rs. 899, the Grip Cover at Rs. 1,099 and the Moto G Flip Cover at Rs. 1,599.

The Motorola Moto G comes with water-resistant nano-coating on the inside and outside. The Moto G packs in a 2070mAh battery but no microSD card slot for expandable storage. The phone support Micro-SIMs instead of regular-sized ones
