Highlights
  • Nokia 3310 (2017) listed to go on sale on May 15 in Spain
  • It will cost EUR 59 (roughly Rs. 4,135)
  • Nokia 3310 was announced alongside Nokia Android phones

Out of all the Nokia-branded phones launched by HMD Global at MWC, the one that perhaps grabbed the most attention was the Nokia 3310 (2017). Because of the nostalgia attached to the name, this feature phone is much awaited and we now seem to have a release date for the Nokia 3310 (2017) in some markets. Starting May 15, the Nokia feature phone is tipped to go for sale in Spain at a price of EUR 59 (roughly Rs. 4,135).

As per the listing spotted by NokiaPowerUser, a European retailer Media Markt has listed Nokia 3310 in Spain on its website with a May 15 release date. It bears a price tag of EUR 59, which is higher than the EUR 49 priced announced by HMD Global at the time of the phone's launch at MWC.

In a report earlier this month, the Nokia 3310 (2017) was tipped to go on sale on April 28 in Germany and Austria, which did not happen. The same report by NokiaPowerUser also suggested that Nokia 3310 (2017) would be priced at EUR 56, which is again higher than the recommended price. However, the report was later updated to mention the new release date for the Nokia feature phone to be May 26 at an increased price of EUR 69.90 (roughly Rs. 4,896) in Germany and Austria via the same e-retailer. It's possible the retailer is just trying to capitalise on the high interest the Nokia 3310 is seeing, so it makes sense to wait for HMD Global to officially reveal something.

Elsewhere, Nokia-branded smartphones Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, and feature phone Nokia 3310 (2017) have been listed by a UK-based e-retailer for pre-orders. While the pre-orders can be made right away, the devices are mentioned to go on sale in June this year. Talking specifically about Nokia 3310 (2017), its UK e-retailer's listing bears a price tag of GBP 59.99 and it would release in mid-June.

To recall, the Nokia 3310 (2017) runs Nokia Series 30+, a spiritual successor to Nokia's Symbian OS. It features a 2.4-inch QVGA (240x320) non-touchscreen display. It has 16MB inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports a 2-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and a 1200mAh removable battery. For connectivity, it supports 2G networks and Bluetooth with SLAM sharing.
