  • Samsung earlier said that it is mulling a 6GB RAM variant for China
  • No confirmation regarding rollout of 6GB RAM variant to other countries
Samsung has started sending out invites for the launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in China and the scheduled event will take place on August 26. Considering the recent statements made by the company and a listing on certification site Tenaa, the company is expected to launch a variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage for the country.

Earlier this month a listing on Chinese certification site Tenaa hinted that the Chinese market could get a 6GB of RAM/ 128GB inbuilt storage variant for Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Further Samsung's mobile division's president Dong-jin Koh responded to the ensuing rumours about this variant, and confirmed that the company was "reviewing" the launch of a Note 7 variant with increased memory capacity in China exclusively in order to compete with local manufacturers.

However, at the time of making this statement, Koh has also admitted that the company was also considering that such a move might end up disappointing its South Korean consumers.

According to a report by Playfuldroid, Samsung has confirmed that it will be launching a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage exclusively for China on August 26 at company's official event.

However, there has been no official confirmation whether this 6GB RAM variant of the phone will make its way to other countries, according to the report.

Interestingly, the Chinese variant of the phone is also expected to be powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC instead of Exynos 8890.

We will have to wait and see if Samsung would launch a 6GB RAM variant in South Korean market to please its local customers or make the phone variant available in select countries or even keep the variant exclusive to China.
