Samsung Galaxy S IV is set to make its debut at a special event at Radio City Music Hall in New York, where the company will introduce its much awaited flagship smartphone.

While a series of leaks have already revealed hardware, design details, new features and specifications of the Galaxy S IV, you cannot be too sure till you hear from the horse's mouth.

Looking at the trend of current flagships such as the Sony Xperia Z and HTC One sporting 1080p screens, the phone will almost certainly feature a 4.99-inch 1080p AMOLED display.

The Galaxy S IV is also expected to be powered by the Exynos 5 Octa 8-core processor and/ or a Qualcomm CPU, depending upon the region, and have 2 GB RAM. With all that raw power under the hood, we expect the phone to be a smooth operator when it comes to performance.

The phone is also expected to feature a 13-megapixel camera. While megapixels don't always determine the quality of a phone's camera, it looks like it's now becoming standard among flagships. While Samsung's previous offerings also came with good camera sensors, we'd expect Samsung to bring in new software features such as simultaneous dual camera video capture, and good low-light shots.

As evident from the various leaks, the phone is also expected to come with a dual-SIM variant in certain markets, have a microSD card slot as standard and a 2,600 mAh battery, in addition to NFC capabilities.

Of course Samsung will also add software features through its Touchwiz user interface on top of the Android 4.2.1 OS it's expected to run. While the 'Smart Scroll' and 'Smart Pause' features were confirmed by a series of screenshots, new videos of the smartphone's interface revealed the floating touch feature, hand gesture controlled Internet browsing and a new unlock screen.
