If your hubby wants to cook your favourite pancake again this weekend, thank the smartphone for his changed attitude towards the kitchen.

With search engines to find how-to-cook recipes just a click away, smartphones are pushing many millennials (those born after 1980) back into the kitchen, a Google study says.

Millennials are finding smartphones handy to keep tab of recipes as they enter the kitchen, iDigitalTimes.comaZ reported.

Nearly 59 percent of those between the ages of 25 and 34 admitted to taking smartphones or tablets into the cooking area.

The top 10 searches for best recipe among millennials are chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, meatloaf, pancake, lasagna, mac and cheese burger, chili, margarita and baked pork chop, the study said.

"We see through secondary research that millennials are cooking more," Anna Conroy from advertising agency mcgarrybowen, who partnered with Google and Kraft Foods for the study, was quoted as saying.

The search interest for "best recipes" has gone up by 48 percent on video-sharing site YouTube in the last one year.

"It is not a chore as much as an ability to create an experience," Conroy said.
