Sony will be holding its IFA event on Thursday, set to start at 4:30pm IST, and the company is widely expected to launch its smartphones Xperia X Compact and Xperia XZ. Ahead of the company's event, several press renders of the alleged two smartphones have been leaked on the internet and show the devices in all their glory.

As per the press renders leaked by Xperia Blog, the smartphones seem to be in line with earlier leaks as they are expected to pack USB Type-C port as well as curved edges. The leaked renders show that the smartphones will be carrying a number of sensors on its camera panel.

Earlier leaks suggested that Xperia X Compact will feature a 4.6-inch display, will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC, either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The device is rumoured to come with a 2700mAh battery.

Some reports have also suggested that the Xperia XZ is in fact the Xperia XR that was rumoured earlier - complete with specifications.

If this is indeed true, Xperia XZ should feature a 5.1-inch display, and will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor. With this smartphone, Sony is also expected to finally make the switch to USB Type-C ports. There is also a pegged dual-LED flash module coming next to the rear camera, and the dimensions are tipped at 146.4x71.9x8.1mm.

In the meanwhile, GSMArena points to a tipster to suggest the Xperia X Compact and Xperia XZ will become available starting September 24.
