Xiaomi is working on an affordable smartphone (unnamed as of now) priced at as low as CNY 399 (approximately $65 or Rs. 4,000), if a report emerging from China is to be believed.

The unnamed budget Xiaomi smartphone is said to feature LTE support, apart from an HD (720p) display and pack 1GB of RAM.

According to Gizchina (via Mydrivers), the Chinese firm that is often called China's Apple recently invested in a chipmaker named Leadcore, and the rumoured Xiaomi smartphone is likely to be based on the new Leadcore chipset.

Reports have been tipping that Xiaomi has been also working on a successor to the Redmi Note, expected to be called the Redmi Note 2, for a while. The successor of Redmi Note phablet, as per recent leaked image showed the upper part of the back panel, sporting what seemed to be an 8-megapixel camera with flash, along with a microphone and an MI logo placed below the camera module.

The popular Chinese company was also recently reported to be planning to enter the camera segment with a new product, which will likely be a GoPro-style action camera similar to the RE camera recently unveiled by HTC.
