Xiaomi is all set to showcase its long anticipated next flagship smartphone, the Mi 5, on February 24 at its MWC 2016 keynote event. The company has released another morsel of information about the smartphone, this time from Xiaomi President Lin Bin, giving us a faint idea how capable the Mi 5's camera is.

Bin posted two sample camera shots of a beach on his Weibo account on Tuesday. The first image, which might have faced compression during the process of uploading to the social network, shows the beach and other elements in the background in detail. The camera appears to have impressive autofocus and shutter speeds, with the sample's subject a flying bird. The second image shows the same subject and the scene slightly zoomed in.

Recalling from the abundant leaks and rumours from before, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is tipped to include a 16-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Some of the other rumoured specifications are a 5.2-inch display with either full-HD or QHD resolution and 3600mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 tech. The handset is said to come in two memory and storage versions - 3GB of RAM with 32GB inbuilt storage, and 4GB of RAM with 64GB storage.

The Mi 5 has been leaked in several images showing the handset featuring a 2.5D curved glass display and 3D glass covering the back panel. The slim oval-shaped home button was also seen in the new press renders and has been said to double up as the fingerprint sensor, which is claimed to be the smallest and faster sensor in the market.
