Xolo Opus 3 With 5-Inch Display, Android 4.4 KitKat Launched at Rs. 8,499

Xolo on Friday has launched the latest edition in its Opus smartphone series, dubbed the Xolo Opus 3, priced at Rs. 8,499.

The Xolo Opus 3 is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device that runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display, which offers a pixel density of 294ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core (MediaTek MTK6582M) processor coupled with Mali 400 MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

The Opus 3 sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 88-degree-wide angle lens (f/2.0 aperture) and LED flash.

On the connectivity front, the Xolo Opus 3 offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth 4.0 options. The smartphone packs a 2500mAh battery, which according to the company is rated to deliver up to 13 hours of talk time on 3G and up to 26 hours of talk time on 2G network.

Various sensors on the Opus 3 smartphone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and magnetometer. The handset measures 143x71.3x8.8mm.

"The device comes with motion control technology which makes the use of accelerometer and proximity sensor to control the music player, FM radio, gallery, camera and even calls; allowing users to control the everyday functions by just the wave of the hand near the proximity sensor," said company while announcing the Xolo Opus 3.

Earlier this week, the company silently listed the Q710s smartphone with price at Rs. 6,999. The dual-SIM Xolo Q710s runs Android 4.4 KitKat and features a 4.5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) IPS display, offering a pixel density of 245ppi.

The Q710s is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M chipset alongside Mali 400 MP2 and 1GB of RAM. The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard. The built-in storage on the handset is 8GB, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
