As promised, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg held a Q&A session on Thursday, answering the most popular questions users asked since he announced the session last week.

Live-streaming the answers on the 'Q&A With Mark' page, Zuckerberg took on a broad spectrum of questions as flippant as "Why do you wear the same [grey] shirt every day?" to those that actually related to the users' experience with the social network, such as "Why did you force us to install Facebook Messenger?"

Notably, apart from just answering the most popular (most-liked) questions that were posted by users,Zuckerberg also took questions from users in the audience (including students) assembled at the headquarters, and had senior management alongside including Sheryl Sandberg.

Coming to the answers, let us start with Zuckerberg's explanation for why the firm forced users to install Facebook Messenger. The 30-year CEO acknowledged that asking more than a billion users to install a new app was not a decision taken lightly, but that he believes that with the two apps users will enjoy a better experience. "...messaging is really important. Each app can do one thing well."

Responding to "Is Facebook losing its charm and is it information overload?", Zuckerberg said "My goal was never to make Facebook cool." The CEO said the social network is meant to help people connect with each other, and communicate in the way they prefer, whether by images, text, or video. As for information overload, Zuckerberg said the News Feed in its current iteration is designed to only show the information the user cares about, and that the firm is constantly tweaking its algorithms to ensure this.

As for why he wears the same shirt every day, Zuckerberg responded that he doesn't like wasting time and energy on making the small decisions of what to wear or eat, and rather use it thinking about where he should lead Facebook.

"I feel like I'm not doing my job if I spend any of my energy on stuff that's frivolous," he said. Sandberg added that Zuckerberg had more than one of that type [the grey t-shirt he is famous for] of shirt, lest anyone believe one of the richest men in the world literally wears the same shirt everyday.
