Asus VivoTab 8 (M81C) With Intel Atom SoC, Windows 8.1 Launched

Asus, soon after launching 2 new tablets, laptops and a smartwatch at IFA 2014, has this week introduced the Asus VivoTab 8 (M81C) without any word on its pricing and availability details.

The Asus VivoTab 8 (M81C) runs Windows 8.1 out-of-the-box, and sports an 8-inch WXGA (1280x800 pixels) LED-backlit IPS display. A 64-bit quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor clocked at 1.8GHz with 1GB (or 2GB, depending on the region) of RAM.

The tablet comes with 32GB of inbuilt storage is expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB). The users would also receive 5GB Life Time Asus Webstorage Space along with an additional 11GB for the first year. The VivoTab 8 (M81C) sports a 2-megapixel rear camera, while there is a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard.

On the connectivity front, the VivoTab 8 (M81C) includes GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0 options. The tablet packs a 15.2Wh battery that is rated to deliver up to 8 hours of battery life as per the company's tests.

The VivoTab 8 (M81C) tablet comes in Blue, White, Black, and Golden colour variants, measures 124.9x211.7x8.8mm, and weighs 330 grams.

iBall recently launched its first Windows 8.1 tablet, the iBall Slide WQ32.

Some of the key features of the tablet are its 8-inch HD (1280x800 pixel) IPS display; quad-core Intel Atom Z3735D processor; 2GB of DDR3 RAM; 16GB of built-in storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB); 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera; 2-megapixel front camera, and 14Wh battery.

Some of the other Windows 8.1 tablets launched recently at the IFA 2014 were Acer Iconia Tab 8 W, Toshiba Encore Mini and WT7-C16.
